FALL BREAK ADVENTURE & BEER PAIRINGS
As the leaves change color and the temperature starts to drop the team at Four Day Ray has been taking time to soak-up the fall weather on our days off. There is so much to do right here in Hamilton County, home to where our brewery and restaurant are located. Here, you can take advantage of a multitude of free parks while taking in nature and getting exercise. Spend a moment to savor the local food scene and of course enjoy a beer or two at Four Day Ray Brewing. Here are a few of our team’s favorite local activities to enjoy this fall. For the best of both worlds (beer & adventure), try these pairings.
Try this: Get into the fall spirit by visiting Fishers AgriPark. AgriPark is a 33-acre urban farm that includes you-pick seasonal produce and fresh-cut flowers. You can also participate in seasonal activities like a corn maze or picking pumpkins in their pumpkin patch. Be sure to check their website to view special events occurring at the farm.
Pair it with: Our Pumpkin Pi (ABV 5.9 | IBU 13), this pumpkin ale is full-bodied with soft hints of pumpkin, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, and spice. After a day on the farm this is the perfect seasonal beer to toast the season. Take it to the next level by ordering it with a cinnamon and sugar rim.
Strawtown Koteewi Park
Try this: Go out and find adventure! Strawtown Koteewi Park offers attractions such as zip lines, aerial obstacles, archery, horseback riding, canoeing and kayaking. You can also explore trails that expand over 750 acres.
Pair it with: Our Afterburner (ABV 4.5 | IBU 22), this smoked lager has an aroma of oak smoked malt upfront with hints of wheat closely behind. Flavors of smoke and wheat meld together with the beer finishing dry. This Great American Beer Fest award winning beer complements smoked meats, backyard BBQ’s, and time by the campfire after a full day of adventure.
Flat Fork Creek Park
Try this: Sunrise or sunset - Flat Fork Creek Park is a beautiful place to take a stroll. Find your way through the woods on the boardwalk and see if you can find any of the three treehouses tucked away. These retreats are the perfect place to hang out and enjoy some time away from everyday life.
Pair it with: Our Take the Day Helles Lager (ABV 5.0 | IBU 20). This American lager has no rice or corn in it like some others but, instead, is bready with a slight malt sweetness, finishes dry. This beer is your friendly reminder to take the day and soak up that fall weather. Winter is coming….
Special thanks to Hamilton County Tourism Digital Marketing Manager Katie Utken for the inspiration on visiting these local hot spots! Learn more about all the things you can do this fall right here. All beers listed are included on our Friday $6 growler fill list until they are gone!
